Linnets Kitchen - Pop Up Food

THE BRIEF

I worked with the fabulous Linnets Kitchen back in 2016 when they needed branding and a kit of parts so they could get up and running with their company. They wanted to create a street food stall based on proper traditional English food (we’re talking sausage & mash, batter puddings - all the good stuff!) but in a street food on the go style.

The name “Linnets Kitchen” was based on the owners childhood home where the bird Linnets frequently visited. The company got a lot of their produce from the surrounding area so frequented it a lot and wanted to use the bird would as a link to the owners background.

THE SOLUTION

Linnets Kitchen wanted a country kitchen feel to the logo to reflect them and their food - approachable and informal. Using a hand written font helped achieve this along with a muted colour palette. The Linnets bird has been incorporated in a silhouette style sitting on top of the logo looking over them. I chose to keep the Illustration style simple and clean to offset the hand written text. The bird gives the brand a character to play with and adapt if they wanted allowing a playful element into the branding (see below the amended logo for Christmas for example). A primary and secondary logo were created. The second being the “Linnets icon” this could easily be used across all social media platforms and communication creating a constant and bold image across the brand.

A kit of parts was created to give the brand movement and adaptability including the primary and secondary logo, colour palette and fonts.
